# SDA Serene card — print guide

The card is a standard US business card: **3.5 x 2 inches**, landscape. Every PDF here already includes a **0.125 inch bleed** on all sides (so the dark background runs off the trimmed edge with no white slivers). The QR is live and points to **https://sdacoaching.com**.

## Two versions

- **One-sided card** (`home-letter-solo.pdf`, `home-tabloid-solo.pdf`): everything on a single face, SDA plus your name, role, site, and QR. **This is the one to print at home.** No duplex, no alignment, just print single-sided and cut. Use this to hand out tomorrow.
- **Two-sided Serene** (`sda-serene-front.pdf` + `sda-serene-back.pdf`): the refined SDA-front / details-back card. **Send this to Vistaprint or GotPrint.** There are also home duplex sheets for it if you want to try, but two-sided at home is fiddly.

### Printing the one-sided card at home
Same settings as below: heavy matte cardstock, **Actual size / 100%** (no fit-to-page), best quality, color, print graphics/background on. Print single-sided, then cut on the tick marks. That's it.

## Files in this folder

| File | Use |
|---|---|
| `sda-serene-front.pdf` / `sda-serene-back.pdf` | **Upload these to Vistaprint or GotPrint.** 3.75 x 2.25 in with bleed, vector, fonts embedded. |
| `sda-serene-front@300.png` / `sda-serene-back@300.png` | 300 dpi backups, in case a site wants image files instead of PDF. |
| `home-letter-front.pdf` / `home-letter-back.pdf` | **Print at home on 8.5 x 11 cardstock.** 10 cards per sheet, crop ticks for cutting. |
| `home-tabloid-front.pdf` / `home-tabloid-back.pdf` | **Print at home on 11 x 17 cardstock.** 24 cards per sheet, crop ticks. |
| `proof.png` | Front + back preview. |

## Printing at home (your printer)

**Stock:** use a heavy matte cardstock, 80 lb cover or heavier (100–110 lb / ~270–300 gsm looks and feels closest to a real card). Matte, not glossy, suits this design.

**Printer dialog settings (this matters most):**
- **Scale: 100% / Actual size.** Turn OFF "Fit to page" or "Shrink to fit." If it scales, your cards will not be 3.5 x 2 and the cut ticks won't line up.
- **Paper size:** Letter for the `home-letter` files, Tabloid (11x17) for the `home-tabloid` files.
- **Quality:** Best / High. **Color**, and if there is a "print background / graphics" option, enable it.
- **Borderless** if your printer supports it. If not, that's fine, the cards sit inside the margins with room to spare.

**Two ways to do front + back:**
1. **Duplex (auto two-sided):** set two-sided printing and choose **Flip on long edge**. Print the `-front` file... actually print the front, then the back, or combine. Simplest: print `-front.pdf`, then reload and print `-back.pdf` as a second one-sided pass (see #2). True auto-duplex on cardstock often jams, so #2 is usually safer.
2. **Manual two-pass (recommended for cardstock):** print all the `-front` sheets one-sided. Take the stack, flip it over, reload, and print the `-back` sheets one-sided. Because every card is identical, they line up. Do one test sheet first and hold it to the light to confirm the back lands on the front.

**Cutting:** use the small tick marks at the paper edges to line up a paper cutter / guillotine. Cut all the vertical lines, then all the horizontal lines. A guillotine or rotary trimmer gives clean edges; scissors will look homemade.

## Ordering from Vistaprint

1. Start a **Standard Business Cards**, size **3.5 x 2 in (Standard, US), Horizontal**.
2. Choose **"Upload a full design"** (front and back), not a template.
3. Upload `sda-serene-front.pdf` for the front and `sda-serene-back.pdf` for the back.
4. If it asks about bleed, the files already have it (0.125 in). If it shows a bleed/safety overlay, confirm the text sits inside the safety line (it does).
5. **Stock / finish:** Premium Plus or the heaviest stock offered, **Matte** finish. If you want the SDA to pop, their **Raised Foil** or **Metallic** add-on on the monogram looks great, but plain matte already reads premium.
6. Quantity to taste (100 is a sensible first run).

## Ordering from GotPrint

1. Product: **Business Cards**. Size **3.5 x 2**. Orientation **Horizontal**. Printed **Both Sides (4/4)**.
2. **Stock:** 16 pt is the sweet spot for a premium feel; add **Matte / Soft-touch** finish if offered.
3. On the artwork step, upload `sda-serene-front.pdf` (front) and `sda-serene-back.pdf` (back).
4. GotPrint specs these files already meet: **3.5 x 2 trim, 0.125 in bleed, 300 dpi, fonts embedded.**
5. If there's a proof option, order the online/soft proof and check the near-black looks even.

## Color note (worth knowing for a dark card)

These PDFs are RGB. Both printers accept RGB and convert to CMYK for press. On a very dark card the near-black can shift slightly or look a touch lighter than the screen. That's normal. If a proof looks off, tell their support "please print as rich black," or ask me and I can regenerate the files in CMYK with a rich-black build.

## Changing the QR

The QR currently opens **sdacoaching.com**. If you'd rather it go straight to your booking form (or a Calendly / booking link later), tell me the URL and I'll regenerate the card and all print files in a minute.
